Some jobs you clock in and out of. Others you actually look forward to. At Bread & Chocolate, we're the second kind!
A great job is about more than a paycheck. It's the people next to you, how you feel driving home, and being proud to say where you work. That's what we care about here. Here's what working with us actually feels like.
You'll have a crew, not just coworkers
Good events are a team sport, and so is a good workplace. Here, you'll work alongside people who are friendly, pitch in, and genuinely like what they do. The energy of a celebration rubs off on the crew, and plenty of coworkers end up feeling more like friends
Your work ends with a standing ovation (sort of)
Most jobs don't come with a finish line. Ours do. At the end of the night there's a couple who just had the best day of their lives, a dance floor that never emptied, and guests asking who made the food. You get to walk out knowing you helped make that happen.
You'll learn from people who've seen it all
Bread & Chocolate has been hosting celebrations for more than 30 years, with well over 1,000 events under our belt. That experience shows up in the timelines, the setups, and the little fixes that keep a night on track. You won't be making it up as you go. And once you've learned the ropes, you'll get room to own your piece of the night. Got an idea for doing something better? We want to hear it.
Every day is a little different
Weddings, micro weddings, elopements, corporate dinners, community events, offsite catering. One week it's a 175-guest Saturday reception; the next it's an intimate dinner for 25. If you get bored easily, good news: you won't.
You'll SET YOUR OWN HOURS
Life doesn't run on a fixed schedule, and your job shouldn't either. Here, you pick the shifts that work for you. Take on more during a busy season, scale back during finals week, or keep your weekdays free for family. Students, parents, and anyone juggling a second gig fit right in.
You'll actually have fun
Champagne towers. A dirty soda bar. A pretzel and donut wall. Late-night dance floors and toasts that make the whole room laugh. Some days are hard work, sure. But there aren't many jobs where "the party" is the job description.
You'll be proud of where you work
We're in the historic Old Bag Factory on Chicago Avenue in Goshen, with real brick, real beams, and a century of character. We donate to local food banks, give free room rental to local nonprofits, buy from local farms when we can, and compost and recycle. When someone asks where you work, you'll have a good answer.
Where you might fit
We hire across the whole operation:
Kitchen crew and line cooks — prep and cook scratch-made menus for events of every size.
Servers and event staff — run the floor, keep guests happy, and make food service look effortless.
Bartenders — pour, chat, and keep the line moving.
Setup and room-flip — set-up, tear-down, clean, repeat.
Dishwashers — the unsung heroes. Every great event runs on clean plates.
Weekend office crew — be the friendly first point of contact on weekends: manage wedding mornings, conduct tours, and keep the details organized.
Who does well here
You'll love it here if you:
Like staying busy more than watching the clock
Can stay calm when the timeline shifts by twenty minutes
Take pride in details, like straight linens and a hot plate that's actually hot
Work well with a team and don't mind jumping in where you're needed
The honest part: events happen when people celebrate, which means evenings and weekends, especially in wedding season. If you need every Saturday off, this probably isn't your gig. If you like work with a beginning, a middle, and a big finish, it just might be.
